This tutorial assumes you have already created your new email account in your web hosting account, typically through your hosting company.

Star by clicking the TOOLS link.

Then click ACCOUNTS.

Click the ADD button.

Ensure the EMAIL ACCOUNT OPTION is selected. Click NEXT.

Enter the NAME as you would like it to appear in the FROM column of outgoing emails.

Click the NEXT button.

Now enter your NEW EMAIL ADDRESS in the box provided.

Click NEXT.

Now you have to enter your incoming (POP3) and OUTGOING (SMTP) server names.

These server names will have been provided to you in your welcome email and often times are simply mail.yourdomain.com.

Enter your EMAIL ADDRESS as your username in the box provided.

Enter your PASSWORD and then click NEXT.

If you do not wish to check your email at the time of set up, check the box on your screen.

Click FINISH.

Click PROPERTIES, then click the SERVERS TAB.

Select the OUTGOING SERVER REQUIRES AUTHENTICATION check box. SMTP authentication means Windows Vistamail will login to your mail server even when sending emails (not just receiving) ensuring that you are the only one that can send emails from your account.

Click OK.

That’s it! You’ve now set up an email address in Windows Vistamail.
