BlueHost is one of the most solid choices in shared web hosting for bloggers and businesses. But…

BlueHost Backups Are NOT Automated

BlueHost does perform backups, but they don’t guarantee or even tell you when they are done. Sure, you could create your own backups in cPanel if you wanted to, but one of the standards in the industry these days is the host to provide a sound backup solution at no extra charge.

Without the intervals of backups at BlueHost being known, it’s best to use the backup system you’re provided with in cPanel:

While BlueHost has provided fair web hosting over the years I’ve been monitoring the industry, I wish they’d do automated backups. But then that’s a HUGE amount of data they’d have to deal with.

NOTICE: Most Hosts Don’t Automatically Backup Your Website

You should note that most web hosting companies actually don’t back up your site automatically. Usually, you have to login to your control panel and schedule automated recurring backups yourself, OR just schedule a one-time manual backup.
